Fort Charlotte

The Jamaica National Heritage Trust acquired this three-acre property and the birthplace of our National Hero. It was renovated and rebuilt from descriptions of the original belongings given by a boyhood friend of Bustamante. The birthday anniversary is a celebration of every year which is held in the plaza in Lucea and in his house. His home can be visited by tours, it is a National Monument.

Lucea Parish Church
The major structure of the Parish Church building from Lucea dates back in 18th century. This church was built in 1725. This is the oldest church of Hanover. People said that a tunnel show the way from below the church to close Fort Charlotte, that is just about one quarter of a mile away.
