Reaching the Peak

You started to climb early in the morning and its all dark around you, you almost can’t see anything but the little spot your flashlight lightens ahead of you. You can feel now that with every step up you get closer to the top and the stars seems to come closer to you. Through the shadows of the forest growing on each side the morning light begins to break and distracted by the views of Blue Mountain you fight even harder to finally reach the top. The sun rises up and if the sky is clear you can see Port Antonio’s Navy Island, Buff Bay and even Cuba. As the sun becomes brighter and stronger you sit on the top of Jamaica feeling proud of conquering The Peak.
